VELVET REVOLVER Guitarist Lives For Live Shows
December 8, 2004Launch Radio Networks is reporting that VELVET REVOLVER added to this year's achievements with three Grammy nominations in the categories of Best Rock Album, Best Rock Song, and Best Hard Rock Performance. The nods go along with the platinum sales of their debut album, "Contraband", and the huge radio success of its first two singles, "Slither" and "Fall To Pieces". But lead guitarist Slash said there's only one way in which he gauges his band's success. "I just go out there and actually do the shows," he said. "I think I have a helluva lot more fun approaching what we do from that point of view as opposed to watching the statistics, reading the trades, watching the chart progressions and all that kind of stuff. We just go out there and perform our own thing, and get to feel the reaction, and that to me is really what it's all about."
The band will head overseas after the holiday break to tour Europe during January and February. But Slash says that VELVET REVOLVER will return to the States for a headlining trek in March.
